Description
This book studies the measurement and importance of staff resilience at the Technological Institute of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. It examines the concept of resilience, tracing its roots from physics and engineering to its adaptation in social sciences, pedagogy, and health sciences. The text defines resilience as the human capacity to face, resist, and overcome adversity, enabling individuals to rebuild after traumatic situations and adapt to organizational changes.
The study employs the Mexican Resilience Scale (RESI-M), an instrument divided into five core factors: strength and self-confidence, social competence, family support, social support, and structure. Evaluating a group of one hundred top-level teachers, the book analyzes how resilience patterns vary according to sex, age, and schooling, ultimately concluding that resilience levels among both women and men are significant. Furthermore, the work highlights how resilience contributes to innovation, transforms organizational behaviors, and minimizes vulnerability in modern institutions by activating personal skills and social resources during disruptive situations.
